Joanna Salamon

I have been reading since I remember, I remember because I read. I like to play with words, find relevant stories and come up with the right form for them. I made my first book at the age of 6 – it was about a butterfly that was released by a spider from his net.
I was born in 1980 in Zamość. I graduated from the State Secondary School of Fine Arts there. In the years 2000-2005 I studied Graphic Design and graduated a book design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

During my studies, I illustrated two books by Les Dmowski, “The Bridge over The River to Nowhere” and “The Sailor in the Holy Land”.

In the years 2007-2020 I worked as a freelance graphic artist/creative in an advertising agency, advertising studio and in a printed press publishing house in Warsaw.

In 2020, I decided to start my own publishing brand, Dandelion, focused on e-publishing. I live and work in Warsaw.

Dandelion was created with the youngest audience in mind and their sensitivity to words, images and sounds.

Our goal is to create beautiful and valuable books for children – new technologies can only facilitate access to them – you no longer have to decide which of your many favorite books to take on vacation …

We are exploring new e-publishing possibilities due to the ever-changing world and its requirements. The bonus of such a publishing solution is eco-friendliness.

We focus on younger audiences who use mobile devices – of course, under the supervision of parents and with their consent!

Raised on the series “Read to me, mum”, we know that nothing can replace reading together!

We target three age groups: 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12.

We want to sow words, hence our motto: Dandelion – sowing the words
